Party galore!

As soon as the summer reaches Gran Canaria, a long tide of laughter covers the island, marking the start of the festivity season. Bores decide to leave the second the fireworks hit the sky and the band starts playing.

Summer festivities in Gran Canaria, pilgrimage season, a true blend of the most unusual forms of fun. Pick yours.

You may jump and get drenched in the middle of a big puddle, next to a thousand muddy bathers determined to catch a slippery fish.

You may join the water war and get ready to soak the whole town. You may surf a wave of dancers moving through pine tree branches until reaching the Agaete sea.

In sum, you may do quite unusual things. And stop acting solemnly for a few days. Just let yourself flow through one of the spots where party music blends with coloured light bulbs over the squares and street stalls selling nougat mix, with dancers to the music of salsa bands.

Such are the ingredients of this festive stew during the island’s mild summer season. Come and find new ways to laugh. You can leave your suit behind.
