In all its modalities volleyball is one of the sports practices which adorn the eternal summer in Gran Canaria. As an indoor sport its male team is Guaguas Las Palmas, and its female team, Hotel Cantur, who are annual aspirants to the top-level national challenges. In its beach modality, both in the capital and in the south and south-east of the Island, competitions delight people practising this sport as well as spectators.
