This route begs to recall the history of the Canary aborigines that hid themselves away in the centre of Gran Canaria, fleeing the conquistadors of the pre-Hispanic age. There are places where numerous aborigines would embrace death before succumbing to enemy hands.

Sacred places like Roque Bentayga, where it today reminds us of a village that fought to conserve its ideology, its social structure and its roots. At the same time, this route is a drive through the large prey of the island. From the Artenara-Acusa-La Aldea de San Nicolás road, you can see such man-made lakes as the prey of el Parralillo (with capacity for 4,592,000 m³), of Siberio (with capacity for 4,507,000 m³) and of Caidero de la Niña (with capacity for 4,592,000m³).

This route begins with the blend of the sea, the smell of efflorescence, the crash of the waves, the beauty of the art and the petrified wood. Along the way, you will see a variety of enclaves where nature, architecture and spirituality combine to make for a one of a kind experience.

The rich views of this route are bound to the cultivated farmland, the conservation of the typical Canaries flora, their scientific knowledge and outreach, and to the architecturally distinct styles of the municipalities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Arucas and Teror.

White sand dunes, palm groves, pine trees, almond trees, spectacular volcanoes, imposing rocks and steep ravines make up the unique landscape of this route as the Gran Canarian peaks rise and fall, revealing along the way the mystery of the laurisilva and the lime trees found on the way to the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
