Getting there

The municipality of Artenara is located at the summit of the island of Gran Canaria, 50 kilometres from the capital. Visitors who wish to visit the area can get there by taking the northern road Carretera del Norte from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, passing through the municipalities of Teror and Valleseco to Artenara. The short distance of 50 kilometres requires around an hour and a half travelling time, as the interior road is very narrow and winding.

Visitors who choose to go by public transport will need to go to the Bus Station (Estación de Guaguas) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and take bus number 220 to Artenara which goes through Teror and Valleseco. This bus has a very limited timetable with approximately three departures a day, on both working days and holidays.
